Congenital Missing Teeth

Case 1:

Patient was congenitally missing her upper laterals. Titanium implants were placed and after three months of healing, her dentist restored the implants with all porcelain crowns. The final result is a beautiful and natural looking smile.

Case 2:

This is another case of a teen with missing laterals. These images show a little more detail as to the dental implant process. Once an implant is placed it needs 2-3 months of healing time for the implant to integrate to the surrounding bone before a patient’s dentist can begin fabricating the final crowns.

During that time, we can often place temporary crowns so a patient doesn’t have to wear a removable appliance to replace any missing teeth. This series of pictures shows a patient in the healing phase with his newly placed implants fitted with temporary abutments and acrylic crowns.

Case 3:

This case shows a patient who had previously replaced her missing laterals with Maryland Bridges. When the bridges started to have issues; she elected to replace the missing teeth via dental implants. Once the implants were fully healed, her dentist placed all porcelain crowns on the implants and many of the surrounding teeth at the same time. Giving her a whole new smile.

Esthetic Crown Lengthening

Case 1:

Having just completed orthodontics, this young lady wanted to show, “less gum and more tooth,” when she smiled. Crown lengthening was done to reduce her excessive gingival display and create a much less noticeable gummy smile.

Case 2:

Prior to having old crowns redone, this patient elected to have his teeth lengthened. Following the lengthening procedure in our office, the patient’s dentist placed new restorations. Resulting in a both a bigger and brighter smile.

Hybrid Implants

Case 1:

Having elected to move forward with an implant supported fixed bridge treatment plan, our office and the patient worked with his general dentist to organize the various components needed to ensure a seamless procedure. A cone bean scan of the patient’s jaw was done in our office to allow Dr. West to familiarize himself with the landmarks of the patient’s jaw while identifying the ideal locations to place implants. Meanwhile, the patient worked with his general dentist and their dental lab to design a new smile.

On the day of surgery, his teeth were extracted and the implants placed to support the recently fabricated temporary bridge. The patient wore this prosthesis for three months while implant integration and full healing occurred. During this time the patient had opportunity to consult with his dentist to make any desired changes to his smile prior to fabrication of the final prosthesis. In this case the patient elected to brighten his smile in the final prosthesis.

Immediate Implants

Case 1:

This patient came in with a failing root canal on her upper front left incisor. To maintain the gum contours, the tooth was carefully removed with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissue. We placed a temporary crown on the immediate implant at the time of placement which she wore during the three months of healing. (bottom left pic)

Dental Implants

Case 1:

This young female patient had root canals on her two front teeth at an early age. Over time, they had both failed. The tooth on the left became ankylosed (stuck in the bone), and as a result the gum line on the tooth was higher than the adjacent tooth. Both teeth were extracted with bone and gum grafting done to correct the gingival discrepancy, by

bringing the gum level down before implant placement. Two dental implants were then placed and temporaries made to help shape the gum tissues. The result is a very aesthetic outcome despite a challenging case. If this case had not been handled appropriately the patient could have ended up with very large, misshapen teeth.

Case 2:

This patient had gum recession on his front incisor in conjunction with root resorption on the lateral tooth next to it; necessitating extraction of the lateral. We extracted the lateral and placed an immediate implant with a provisional crown. At the same time, a gum tissue graft was completed on the central incisor.

Case 2:

Patient had severe recession on her upper canines that compromised both her smile as well as the prognosis of the teeth. Using her own tissue to correct the recession, we improved the appearance of the teeth as well as the stability of her canines for years to come.

Zirconia Implants

Case 1:

This patient elected to replace a missing molar with a Zirconia Implant. Patients often think Zirconia implants are just for the smile line region of their mouth, when in fact we place them in the posterior regions just as often, if not more.
